The Youth Group’s Spaghetti Dinner was a sold-out success! Parishioners filled the parish hall on the evening of January 26, 2008 to enjoy spaghetti with home-made sauce and all the trimmings, live entertainment and a series of door prizes.

The members of the Youth Group were responsible for all aspects of the event: they prepared the publicity, sold tickets, shopped for the food, set up and decorated the hall, provided the entertainment, worked the kitchen and completed the cleanup.

The Youth Group from Holy Cross Parish treated parishioners to a car wash during the Saturday evening and Sunday morning Masses on the weekend of September 22-23, 2007.

The young members of Holy Cross Parish were treated to the beginning of Children’s Liturgy on September 16, 2007. For the remainder of the school year, Children’s Liturgy will be held on most Sundays at the 9:30 a.m. Mass. All the young children over the age of 3 are welcome to take part.

In 1994, Fr. Tom Riopelle, the then Pastor of Holy Cross Parish, took some initiatives to add aesthetic improvements to the Church. One of the outstanding features is the tabernacle area. The central part of the stained glass window represents the Ark of the Covenant in which the people of the Old Testament carried the Holy of Holies (2 Samuel 6:14). It is encircled by the wings of Angels hovering protectively around it.

The third annual Indo-Canadian Gala served up generous amounts of musical entertainment and exciting Indian cuisine to nearly 200 guests on Friday, May 11, 2007.
