Holy Cross' Annual General Meeting will take place on Sunday, May 06, 2007 immediately following the 11:15 Mass.

A light lunch will be served and all parishioners are encouraged to attend. This is your opportunity to discuss changes in the parish in the coming year as well as the highlights of the past year. Please consider spending an hour out of your day to hear about all of the activities within your parish community and help contribute to its future.

This fall, an energy audit of our church building was completed:

"EnviroCentre is pleased to present this electricity and energy audit of Holy Cross Parish on Walkley Rd. This report includes the results of your estimated baseline electricity use, load profile, billing analysis, potential savings, and recommendations for reducing your heating and electricity bills."

My Dear Friends,

It was a long and hard struggle for me to decide to become a Deacon. In finally doing so I pledged to serve the church wholeheartedly. Half way through the 4 -year training period I learned that I have a progressive and irreversible brain disease called Frontal temporal Dementia.

Our Bishop, Marcel Gervais was extremely compassionate, telling me that even if I only had one year to serve after ordination, that he would still ordain me. And so we carried on.

For a long time I didn’t have many symptoms and sometimes we even wondered if the diagnosis was wrong. But gradually the condition has progressed as you have probably noticed. From the beginning Mary has supported me in living out my ministry of service to the street people and here at Holy Cross.
