Food being served at Old Fashion Parish Supper

The Hospitality Committee hosts the parish's Old Fashion Parish Supper on Saturday, November 15, 2014.

Our guests enjoy a turkey and ham dinner with vegetables, mashed potatoes and dessert prepared by members of the committee.

Tickets cost $15 per adult. Tickets for children under 12 years of age are $4. The doors open at 6:00 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:30 p.m.

Gluten free options are available. Tickets will be sold after weekend Masses and are available from members of the committee before the event but not at the door unless pre-arranged.

Warm Clothing Needed for the Winter Season

Club 55+: Warm Clothing Drive-“Baby It’s Cold Outside”: We are in need of gently used or new coats, jackets, boots, scarves and mitts for adults and children. Donated items will be shared with Debra Dynes Community, Shepherds of Good Hope and Harvest House. Please place your donations in the large Christmas Box in the narthex of the church on the week-ends of Nov.1st / 2nd and Nov. 8th /9th.

26 Young Parishioners Confirmed

Archbishop Prendergast confirms a candidate

Archbishop Prendergast confirmed 26 young people from Holy Cross Parish on the evening of Monday, May 26, 2014. The children were accompanied by their sponsors, family members, friends and fellow parishioners. A reception in the parish hall followed the ceremony.

The students had attended Confirmation classes, organized by Tom Flynn. Five preparation sessions were held for parents and children. They explored important aspects of the Catholic faith:

K of C Marian Prayer Program at Holy Cross

Replica of Mary, Immaculate Conception, from Notre-Dame de Québec

A sacred image of Mary as the Immaculate Conception, the centrepiece of the Knights of Columbus Marian Prayer Program, is at Holy Cross Parish from late December until January 1, the Feast of Mary, Mother of God. The sacred image will be on display at all Masses on the weekend of December 28-29, and again at the Masses on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Parishioners and visitors are invited to spend time in prayer before the image.
