Feast of Corpus Christi Procession

Feast of Corpus Christi procession concludes with a final blessing

The annual procession highlighting the Feast of Corpus Christi was held after the 9:30 Mass on Sunday, June 2, 2013.

Parishioners processed along Springland and Walkley Roads before entering the the parking lot along the side of the church. The procession was led by the cross-bearer and flag-bearers. The Sir Vincent Taillon Assembly of the Knights of Columbus provided an honour guard and the 9:30 choir sang during the procession. Light rain fell throughout the procession, which culminated with a brief benediction service in the driveway.

Annual Women's Breakfast scheduled for April 20

The Hospitality Committee will be hosting a Women’s Breakfast on Saturday, April 20, 2013. The guest speaker will be the Executive Director of St. Mary’s Home, Nancy McNider, who will speak about “St. Mary’s Home – A Journey of Hope”.

Breakfast will be served including bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. Tickets will be sold after all the Masses on the weekends of April 06-07 & 13-14. The cost is $15/per person.

Children prepare for First Holy Communion

Come Join us at the Table highlights, 2013

March, 2013. Since early January, more than 30 children have been busily preparing for their First Holy Communion, to be celebrated during morning Masses on the first two Sundays after Easter. The children and their parents attended six sessions of the Come Join Us at the Table program, led by members of the parish's Sacramental Preparation Committee. The children made their First Reconciliation on March 5.

Christmas Craft and Bake Sale Well-attended

The annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale at Holy Cross Parish was well attended after all the morning Masses, Sunday December 2, 2012. Highlights of the event included tasty breakfast buns with ham and cheese, apple pies baked by members of the hospitality committee and a wide variety of crafts made by local artisans. Various charities are supported by sales from this event, which has been a highlight of the parish's social calendar for the past twenty-five years.
