Holy Cross Parish bids farewell to Fr. Lukose

Holy Cross Parish held a farewell party on August 20 in honour of our associate pastor, Fr. Lukose Kochupurackal, C.M.F., who has received an appointment as pastor of St. Bernard Parish, effective September 1, 2011.
Approximately 180 parishioners attended the event, which was hosted by the Hospitality Committee and the Knights of Columbus.
Best wishes were expressed by Kathleen Provost on behalf of Parish Pastoral Council, Deacon John Kennedy, Robert Laird, Fr. James Raphel, and Joe Goski. Richard Whelan presented Fr. Lukose with a gift from Holy Cross Parish and Hugh Connolly welcomed Fr. Lukose to his new parish.
The speakers noted Fr. Lukose's warmth as a pastor, his energy in building up our faith community, and his infectious smile, which cheers every heart. Deacon John and Fr. James both alluded to how much more challenging their work would now be, without the help of Fr. Lukose. In reply, Fr. Lukose thanked Fr. James, the parish staff, the parish's many volunteers and all members of the parish for their consistent support for his ministry. Fr. Lukose especially remembered those members of our parish who have gone to their rest before us.
