The choirs of Holy Cross Parish presented a concert of Advent and Christmas music on Sunday afternoon, December 18. The program opened with Harmonia Mundi, a 16th century German chorale, performed by members of several of the parish choirs. The chorale's message is that music may one day heal our differences and bring the people of the world together.

Each choir in turn presented a selection of their favourite Christmas music. The program included traditional English, French and German carols, as well as two Australian carols composed in the 1940's. Heather Rice performed the First Nowell, as 17th century French composition, on the pipe organ.

At the conclusion of the concert, Fr. James blessed the choir members, comissioning them for the musical ministry.

The hospitality committee hosted a reception in the church hall after the concert.
