Children's Liturgy Begins

Children’s Liturgy - Planning Workshop - September 15, 2007

The young members of Holy Cross Parish were treated to the beginning of Children’s Liturgy on September 16, 2007. For the remainder of the school year, Children’s Liturgy will be held on most Sundays at the 9:30 a.m. Mass. All the young children over the age of 3 are welcome to take part.

Parishioners who wish to participate in this important ministry are invited to a training workshop in the church, Tuesday September 25, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. The workload will be light and the spiritual reward from working with our children will be great.

Several parents and youth have already set the program in motion. Workshops put on by the diocese in July and September were well attended by our volunteers. On September 15, 2007, ten attended a workshop at which the guidelines were thoroughly explained and attendees from across the diocese shared their experiences and insights.

Children’s Liturgy will be conducted using new guidelines published by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops. Miriam Basten has led the parish’s initiative to continue this exciting program after Joanne MacEwan concluded her many years of dedicated service in this ministry.

Volunteers are asked to register with the parish office by calling Barbara Costanza at 613-731-7834.
