At our Sunday Masses, the role of assisting the Presider is taken on by families and individuals through the ministry of servers. This role includes holding the prayer book for the Presider, preparing the Table of the Eucharist and replenishing the Eucharistic vessels during Communion; similar duties for the weekday Masses. New ministers are always welcome; training is provided.
