The Holy Cross Youth Group will begin their year of activities by holding their third fall retreat on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the church hall. All young people from grades four and up are invited to participate and to become members of the Youth Group.

The featured speaker, Brother Steven Boucher, o.p., will preach on Living like Christ. Members of the youth group who attended the past two retreats will remember Brother Steven's dynamic talks about the importance of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Catholics and how to get more from the Mass. Brother Steven has been a welcome contributor to the youth group's activities, is a member of Holy Cross Council of the Knights of Columbus, and has participated in teaching the Rosary to students at Holy Family School. Brother Steven currently is enrolled in teacher's college at the University of Ottawa.

During the retreat, Fr. James will celebrate a teaching Mass for the youth. Other activities are planned and lunch will be provided.

Each year, the youth group engages in a dynamic round of activities that include:

• retreats
• social occasions
• helping at parish events
• hosting a Pasta Dinner
• helping organize Children's Liturgy
